Assignment: Presentation on a Historical or Modern Object

Objective: The goal of this assignment is for students to research and present a historical or modern object of their choice. The object can be anything from an ancient artifact to a modern technological device. Students will explore the significance, history, and impact of the object, and share their findings through a structured presentation.

Instructions:
  1. Choose an Object: Select an object that interests you. It can be something from history (e.g., the Sphinx, the first telephone) or a modern-day item (e.g., a games console, electric car).
  2. Research Your Object:
    • For historical objects: Research its origin, historical context, and its significance at the time and in the present day.
    • For modern objects: Investigate its development, current use, and impact on society or technology.
  1. Prepare Your Presentation:
    • Introduction: Briefly introduce the object and explain why you chose it.
    • Main Body:
      • Discuss the history or development of the object.
      • Explain its purpose and how it is or was used.
      • Highlight its significance or impact on people, society, or technology.
    • Conclusion: Summarize the key points and explain why this object is important in its context (historical or modern).
  1. Visuals: Include images, diagrams, or videos to help illustrate your points.
  2. Time Limit: Your presentation should be 5-7 minutes long.
Grading Criteria:
  • Content: Depth of research and understanding of the object.
  • Organization: Clear structure (introduction, main points, conclusion).
  • Presentation Skills: Confidence, clarity, and engagement with the audience.
  • Visual Aids: Effective use of visuals to enhance the presentation.
