Week 6 assignment - Research (April 6)
This week you will research: 1. AI 2. Your chosen field of expertise (preliminary research) If you want to experience AI, you can use Bing AI chat assistant to help you with this research. Download Bing here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/download?form=MA13FJ Choose any topic or app related to AI and do some research about it. Services that use AI include Duolingo, Grammarly, and ChatGPT. AI is a major topic right now because of current developments. For example see the letter here: https://futureoflife.org/open-letter/pause-giant-ai-experiments/ Here are some links to find info about AI: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11423-023-10203-6 https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1336138.pdf https://jaltcall.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/AI-and-Machine-Learning-in-Language-Education.pdf https://www.hindawi.com/journals/edri/2023/4253331/ https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2022.1049401/full https://blog.vsoftconsulting.com/blog/7-of-the-best-language-learning-chatbot-apps Be ready to discuss what you found. Week 7 assignment (April 13)
Find at least one article or research paper on your "student field of expertise" topic (see week 6 PPT). The article/paper should contain useful and relevant information on your topic, such as guidelines, examples, case studies, tools, techniques, and so on. Be prepared to explain and summarize the content of the article this week. ** No class in Week 8
Week 9 assignment (27 April) - Edpuzzle projects I have saved and re-assigned your Edpuzzle assignments. In your group, you will watch the videos of your other group members (see Week 7 PPT file for the two groups). Take notes about the video and questions, including suggestions. In class (week 9), you will discuss the videos you watched and your experience of this project with your group. Also- do more research about your student field of expertise topic. Week 10-11 Presentation - starting Thursday 4 May
Presentation on your chosen topic.
Final Project
Participants will negotiate and plan a PETP (Personal Educational Technology Project). This can take many forms based on the participants interests and skill set. Examples may include recording a series of educational videos, a lesson plan or syllabus utilizing educational technology, a set of multimedia resources, a website, or a guide for a specific tool or service. New ideas and combinations of these ideas are welcome. The result of the PETP will ideally be relevant and useful for the participant, perhaps in their current or future work. The content and format can also overlap with other courses at HUFS. The PETP can include elements and content from various sources, but the result should be transformative with some development by the course participant. Deadline: Wednesday 21 June
Send a link to your project or send the related files. In the case of something like Kahoot, you could make the quiz live and notify us on Kakaotalk with the access code. You are welcome to share your projects on Kakaotalk. If you would like help, suggestions or guidance before the deadline, please send details/links between 9-16 June so that I can check and reply. |
