Week 4 reading - due October 2
Below is the first part of chapter 3 and an AI-generated summary.
This week, we will do AI-supported research.
After reading, do one of the following tasks with the help of AI.
  1. Choose a task, such as opening a bank account. Use AI to produce input materials, task procedures, goal, and learner roles. (Page 41)
  2. Create a set of goals for specific learners and type of syllabus, for a kindergarten English course. (Page 43)
  3. Create a set of teaching input materials, for example reading or dialogues, on the same topic for 3 different levels of the CEFR. (Page 45-46)
  4. Create a list of potential input materials for a specific type of course and learner, for example business English students. (Page 48)
Upload your homework (1-2 pages of A4 pdf) on Kakaotalk.

Homework for Week 8 (October 23):
Watch TESOL Activity Route Map - how to plan activities. Link below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HYTypfvOR8
Homework for Week 9 (October 30):
Watch the following video on my Youtube channel. It is about sequencing activities into a lesson structure.

EIF Framework

Homework for Week 10 (November 6)
Start thinking about and planning a speaking lesson plan. The lesson should be focused on developing speaking skills. Consider target language, warm up steps + scaffolding.
  • Low level students: follow EIF with scaffolding steps.
  • High level students: consider TBLT + authentic.
Bring your ideas for discussion next week. See the readings below for reference.
