Week 3 reading assignment (due 19 March)
The reading is about arguments for teaching grammar and arguments against teaching grammar. Read the chapter below and be ready to discuss it in class. Highlight sections and take notes as you read. Choose topics from the reading to discuss. Choose one argument for and one against and write a paragraph for each on the HUFS discussion board. Explain why you agree or disagree with this argument, or why you think it is important. Include your opinions and experiences.
Week 4 reading - due 26 March
Read the chapter below. Task: There are “Questions for Reflection” at the end of the chapter. Choose any of the questions to answer and add your answers on the HUFS e-class discussion board.
Week 5 reading - due 2 April
Chapter 2 - Grammar for beginner learners. The reading file contains many questions added in red text. Choose two questions and write your answers on the HUFS e-class discussion board.
Homework: Micro-Teaching Lesson Instructions
Beginner-level teachers, prepare a short (about 15 minutes) micro-teaching lesson following a structured approach. Your lesson should include:

Intermediate teachers prepare for micro-teaching in Week 9 All students: Read about intermediate level in the file below.. Choose one topic from the reading and write your thoughts, experiences and opinions on the HUFS e-class.
Week 10 Homework - due May 7
For this week, let's try something a bit different. We will use content from the reading (about teaching advanced grammar) and AI to apply ideas and plan lessons for advanced grammar. You must read the summary and complete the homework task activities. I have added the original chapter for your reference as well.

The final microteaching is an opportunity to teach an improved and developed version of your previous lesson, or to develop a new lesson using the feedback to help. 15-20 mins. Any age or level.
