Homework for Week 7
Intermediate Speaking activity - Microteaching practice
Prepare a short speaking activity to share and do with the class. The activity can be for any age and level. Think about the warm up steps, setting up the activity, doing the activity, closing the activity, and post-activity (if necessary). Also consider aspects such as groupings, instructions, checking questions, warm up, and activating background knowledge.
See the reference material from chapter 2 below.
Time is flexible, but I each micro teaching will take approx. 10 minutes. We can use the breakout rooms feature on Zoom if needed, and I can make you host.

Final Speaking Lesson Plan + Microteaching
Prepare a speaking lesson for any age/level of students. The lesson can be based around 1-2 main speaking activities, or the lesson can have many scaffolded steps (EIF framework) for younger students.

Schedule:
  • May 13 - Create a text document with a basic outline of your lesson for class discussion and feedback. Include enough detail to share with others.
  • May 20 - Final feedback session. You do not need to submit your final lesson plan by email. I will check and give feedback during class time. Please have your lesson plan mostly completed this week for my feedback. You can use any lesson plan template or format. We will also make a schedule for final micro-teaching.
  • May 27, June 3, June 10 - Final microteaching. You can submit your final lesson plan if you like, but for the final micro-teaching I will mainly be assessing your teaching. You can teach about 15-25 minutes (this is just a general guide). We will make a schedule so that you know which week you are going to teach your lesson.
Schedule:
May 27 - Mikyung
June 3 - Seoyoon, Siyeon
*NO CLASS ON JUNE 10*
June 17 - Suwol, Jihwa
